LOKDIN

FAQ

Product

What is Lokdin?
Lokdin is a commitment platform that enforces accountability through code and social pressure. You set a goal, choose stakes (public tweet, locked crypto, or hard mode), and submit proof before your deadline. Fail and face real consequences.
Why crypto?
Crypto enables true enforcement without third parties. When you stake real money, it's locked in a smart contract escrow that only releases funds if you submit proof of success. No trusted intermediaries, no disputes, no refunds - just code that executes exactly as written. Your commitment becomes financially binding, turning motivation into obligation.

Proof

What counts as proof?
You choose your proof type when creating the commitment: a link/URL, a tweet link, or a screenshot. The proof must clearly demonstrate completion of your stated goal. Vague or unrelated submissions will be rejected.
What if my proof is "unclear"?
An AI agent reviews all submissions. If your proof doesn't clearly match your goal, it will be rejected and you'll face consequences. Be specific when defining your goal and explicit when submitting proof.
Can I submit proof after the deadline?
No. The deadline is final. Once it passes, consequences are triggered automatically. This is the core mechanism—real stakes create real urgency.

Privacy

What's public vs private?
Public mode: your commitment and any failure are tweeted via @lokdinai. Private mode: only crypto stakes, no public posting. Hard mode: full transparency on X and USDC stakes. Your profile grid shows all commitments but hides goal details for private ones.

Stakes

How does staking work?
You lock USDC (minimum $5) in a smart contract when creating a private mode or hard mode commitment. If you submit valid proof on time, you get it back. If you fail, the funds are forfeited and held by the contract. No refunds, no exceptions.
Is this on mainnet?
Currently deployed on Base Sepolia testnet. Mainnet launch is planned once the platform is battle-tested. Use testnet USDC for now—stakes are symbolic but the accountability is real.
Where does my money go if I fail to deliver?
If you fail to submit proof before your deadline, the smart contract automatically forfeits your staked USDC to a wallet owned by the Lokdin team. This creates real economic pressure and removes ambiguity. During beta, forfeited funds are retained by the Lokdin team as part of the business model.

Watchers

What does "watching" do?
Watchers add social pressure. When someone watches your commitment, they're signaling they care whether you deliver. You see the watcher count, they see your outcome. It's lightweight but psychologically significant.
Will watchers get emails?
Not yet. Email notifications for watchers are on the roadmap. For now, watching is a silent commitment to follow up manually.

Moderation / Abuse

Can I delete a commitment?
No. Once created, commitments are permanent. This is intentional—real stakes require real commitment. If you create spam or abusive content, it will be flagged and you may be banned.

Roadmap

What's coming next?
Mainnet launch on Base, email notifications for watchers, team commitments, recurring challenges, integration with productivity tools, and reputation scoring. The goal is to make accountability frictionless and socially reinforced.
